The Institute of the Environment and Energy (IoEE) brings together UConn’s world-class faculty and cutting-edge research facilities to deliver integrated, ground-breaking solutions to the urgent challenges of rapidly-changing environmental conditions and the transition to a sustainable, secure energy system. By connecting across disciplines and sectors through meaningful partnerships with communities, industry, government, and non-profit organizations, IoEE deploys innovative solutions and prepares future environmental leaders to meet the challenges of the 21st century. IoEE ensures sustainability, resilience, and green infrastructure are embedded in institutional decision-making and practice while advancing research, education, public engagement, and applied problem-solving by engaging over 220 faculty members across 10 academic units and five centers of excellence. Addressing complex challenges requires deep interdisciplinary collaboration across the natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, public health, law, policy, and IoEE is leading the way.
